Looking for more player props content? We’ve got you covered all season:

Expert Pick: Olamide Zaccheaus Receiving Yards – Higher Than 12.5

The Bears are currently residing atop not just the NFC North, but the entire NFC. To call that a surprise would be an understatement. The Bears were expected to threaten for a playoff spot in their first year under new head coach Ben Johnson, but they have exceeded all expectations.

That said, it’s fair to wonder just how good this Bears team actually is. They have a point differential of just +6 for the year, giving them an expected record of 6.1-5.9. That stems primarily from a 6-1 record in one-score games, with four of those wins coming by three points or fewer.

The Bears will face a stiff test this week vs. the Packers in Lambeau Field, and they’ll have to do it without their top receiver. Rome Odunze has been ruled out for this outing, and while his production has waned of late, he still leads the team with a 24% target share.

Removing Odunze from the equation should open up some additional targets for Zaccheaus. He’s recent lost his role as the team’s No. 3 receiver to emerging rookie Luther Burden, but Zaccheaus should get back in the mix in Week 14.

When Zaccheaus has been on the field this season, he’s had no problems earning targets from Caleb Williams. He’s been targeted on 22% of his routes run, and he should see a significant uptick in routes vs. the Packers.

I ultimately have Zacchaeus projected for three receptions, which should give him an excellent chance at getting to 13 yards. I also don’t mind the idea of playing something like higher than 34.5 yards for a better potential payout.

Where to play: Olamide Zaccheaus Receiving Yards – Higher Than 12.5 | Underdog

Expert Pick: Christian Watson Receiving Yards – Lower Than 54.5

The Packers have an abundance of pass-catching options, but Watson has emerged as their clear top target in recent weeks. He’s posted a target share of at least 34% in back-to-back games, and he’s coming off a season-high 10 targets on Thanksgiving. He responded with four catches for 80 yards, and he added his third touchdown of the year.

Still, it’s possible the spike in production is just an outlier. Guys like Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks have had solid target numbers for most of the year, so things could be a bit more balanced in Green Bay moving forward.

Additionally, the team could get a bit deeper at receiver in Week 14. Jayden Reed is listed as questionable for the Packers, and I tentatively expect him to suit up. It seemed like Reed had a chance to go on Thanksgiving, and with another 10 days before their matchup vs. the Bears, Reed appears on track to return.

The Bears have been a solid matchup for receivers for most of the year, but they look a lot tougher with Jaylon Johnson back in the lineup. He suited up last week for the first time since Week 2, and he’s one of the best cornerbacks in football. Watson should see a fair bit of him on Sunday, so this feels like a nice sell-high opportunity.

Where to play: Christian Watson Receiving Yards – Lower Than 54.5 | Underdog

Kenneth Gainwell Receiving Yards – Higher Than 18.5

The Steelers and Bills will square off in Buffalo on Sunday afternoon in an important contest for both squads. The Bills are looking to hold on to one of the Wild Card spots in the AFC – they’re currently tied with the Jaguars and Chargers at 7-4 – while the Steelers are trying desperately to maintain their lead in the AFC North. The Ravens losing on Thanksgiving gave Pittsburgh a 0.5-game cushion, but a loss to the Bills would drop them behind the Ravens once again.

The Steelers’ offense has been an average unit for most of the season. They rank 10th in the league in points per game, but they’re merely 27th in yards. In terms of EPA per play, they check in right near the middle of the pack (15th).

That stems primarily from their quarterback play. Aaron Rodgers is clearly not the same player that he was in his prime, and he’s simply looking to get the ball out of his hands as quickly as possible. No player has had a quicker average time to pass this season, and no QB has averaged fewer intended air yards per attempt.

That has led to a nice season for Gainwell as a pass-catcher. Despite technically being the No. 2 back in Pittsburgh, Gainwell has the fifth-highest target share at running back in the league (15%). He’s been particularly active in that department of late. He’s racked up 14 total targets over his past two contests, and he’s had a target share of at least 21% in both games.

Gainwell has responded with at least 30 receiving yards in both outings, and there’s no reason to expect much different vs. the Bills. The Bills have struggled against running backs all season, and while most of that has come while defending the run, short passes to Gainwell are essentially just an extension of the run game.

Where to play: Kenneth Gainwell Receiving Yards – Higher Than 18.5 | Underdog

Josh Allen Rushing Yards – Higher Than 28.5

Allen continues to have to do everything for Buffalo. He is Superman, while the rest of the offense is full of Clark Kents. Things have been even worse in that department recently. Dalton Kincaid has been out of the lineup with a hamstring injury, while last year’s second-round pick Keon Coleman has been a healthy scratch.

Allen has no issue putting the team on his back. He struggled against a tough Texans’ defense in Week 12, but he put together one of the best games in the history of the position the week prior. He finished with 317 yards and three touchdowns through the air, and he added another 40 yards and three touchdowns on the ground.

Allen’s legs have always been a huge part of his skill set. He’s already notched double-digit rushing TDs for the third consecutive season, and he’s averaged 37.0 rushing yards per game for his career. He’s at 33.7 rushing yards per game this season, and he’s had more than 28.5 in seven of 11 outings.

The Steelers have done a solid job at limiting QBs on the ground, but they haven’t faced many mobile passers. Drake Maye got them for 45 yards on seven carries in their matchup, and he’s probably Allen’s closest comparable. Ultimately, this number is simply too low.

Where to play: Josh Allen Rushing Yards – Higher Than 28.5 | Underdog

Expert Pick: Javonte Williams Receiving Yards – Higher Than 7.5

Williams has been one of the biggest surprises at running back this season. He was expected to be part of a committee in Dallas, joining Miles Sanders and Jaydon Blue. However, Sanders suffered an injury in Week 4 and has been on IR ever since, while Blue has struggled to earn opportunities. It’s allowed Williams to be the team’s unquestioned top runner, racking up 76% of the snaps and 70% of the designed rushing attempts.

Williams has also had an impact as a pass-catcher. That hasn’t been evident of late, but he has a passable 9% target share for the year. He’s also on the field in most passing situations, so there’s no reason he can’t produce in that department.

Williams has managed just one catch in four straight games, but he still managed to get to eight receiving yards in one of them. More importantly, Williams averaged 4.7 targets, 3.7 receptions, and 13.8 receiving yards across his first six outings.

That makes Williams a solid buy-low target vs. the Eagles. Philly has a tough defense, but they have struggled against running backs in the passing game. They’ve allowed the fourth-most receiving yards per game to the position, and Jahmyr Gibbs had more than 100 receiving yards against them last week. Williams is certainly not Gibbs, but he had two catches for 10 yards in his first matchup vs. Philly this season. That would be enough to get the job done.

Where to play: Javonte Williams Receiving Yards – Higher Than 7.5 | Underdog

Expert Pick: Saquon Barkley Rushing Yards – Higher Than 75.5

It has been an absolutely brutal season for Barkley. He was always expected to see some regression following last year’s massive campaign. He totalled well over 400 touches between the regular season and playoffs, and running backs with that type of volume almost always take a step back the following season.

That said, I’m not sure anyone expected it to be quite this bad. He has managed to stay mostly healthy, but his yards per attempt have plummeted from 5.8 to 3.8. The Eagles’ offensive line isn’t nearly as dominant as it was in years past, and Barkley isn’t doing as much with the ball in his hands as he did last season.

However, Barkley has managed to get to at least 85 yards in two of his past three games, including a monster performance vs. the Giants. There’s no reason he can’t put together another quality showing vs. the Cowboys in Week 12. They rank 29th in rush defense EPA, and before last week’s demolition of the Raiders, they had allowed an average of 159.7 rushing yards across their previous six contests. Barkley may not be producing at the same rate he did in the past, but he should be able to get to 76 yards against this unit. He has at least 22 carries in back-to-back games following the team’s Week 9 bye, so he doesn’t even need to be particularly efficient.

Where to play: Saquon Barkley Rushing Yards – Higher Than 75.5 | Underdog

Broncos vs Chiefs Prediction Today: Player Props Best Bets

We have two really strong divisional matchups to choose from in the late-afternoon window on Sunday. Things will get started with the Rams and Seahawks at 4:05 p.m. ET, followed by the Broncos vs. the Chiefs at 4:25 p.m. ET.

R.J. Harvey Rushing Yards – Lower Than 54.5

The NFC West showdown could very well be for the top spot in the conference, while the Chiefs are simply fighting to get in. They would not be in the playoffs if they started this week, so they’re going to have to string some wins together down the stretch. A win over the Broncos in Denver would certainly help.

For the Broncos, they’re going to have to overcome a bit of adversity in their backfield. J.K. Dobbins has been the team’s top running back this season, but he went down with an injury in their last game. As a result, second-round rookie R.J. Harvey is going to be asked to pick up the slack.

That said, don’t expect Harvey to be the team’s clear bell-cow. He’s had more than seven carries in a game just once this season, and he hasn’t exactly thrived when on the field. His average of 4.3 yards per attempt isn’t bad, but Dobbins averaged 5.0 yards per attempt in the same situation. Tyler Badie will still be a factor on passing downs – and could get a bit more involved on early downs as well – while Jaleel McLaughlin could also reenter the rotation.

The Chiefs are also far from an ideal matchup. While their metrics against the run aren’t great, they’ve still allowed the seventh-fewest rushing yards per game to opposing RBs. Part of that stems from the Chiefs being so good on offense; opposing teams simply don’t have many opportunities to run the ball if they’re playing from behind.

Ultimately, I’m keeping expectations low for the rookie in his first professional start.

Where to play: R.J. Harvey Rushing Yards – Lower Than 54.5 | Underdog

Kareem Hunt Rushing Yards – Higher Than 43.5

The Chiefs have a running back injury situation of their own to deal with. Isiah Pacheco was unable to get health enough to suit up following the team’s Week 10 bye, so he’s going to miss his second straight contest.

Unlike in Denver, Kansas City simply doesn’t have a ton of great RB options at the moment. They were reportedly looking to upgrade the position before the deadline, but they decided it wasn’t worth meeting the third-round asking price on Breece Hall.

Instead, they’re going to have to survive with what they have. That figures to be mostly Hunt in Week 11. He operated as the Chiefs’ bell-cow back without Pacheco in Week 9, playing on 81% of the team’s snaps and handling 61% of their carries. Hunt turned 11 carries into 49 yards vs. the Bills, and there’s no reason he shouldn’t see a similar workload vs. the Broncos.

Denver’s defense is tough, but they’re not quite as good against the run as they are vs. the pass. They’re sixth in rush defense EPA, but they’re No. 2 through the air.

Where to play: Kareem Hunt Rushing Yards – Higher Than 43.5 | Underdog

Christian McCaffrey Props Sunday – Top Picks & Best Bets

Regardless of who has been under center for the 49ers this season, McCaffrey has been a huge factor in the passing game. He’s had at least 52 receiving yards in all but one contest, and the lone exception came against an elite Texans’ defense.

McCaffrey’s utilization as a pass-catcher has been absolutely elite. He has a 26% target share for the year, which is the top mark among running backs by a wide margin. De’Von Achane is the only other RB above 20%, and he checks in at merely 22%.

Overall, McCaffrey has averaged 8.9 targets, 6.8 receptions, and 69.6 receiving yards per game. Those numbers have come down slightly since Kittle’s return, but he’s still averaged 60.7 receiving yards in those three contests.

For DFS players targeting Christian McCaffrey fantasy points, here’s the breakdown (according to aggregate industry projections:

Projected CMC Fantasy Points This Week:

  • Conservative Estimate (15 att, 65 rush yards, 6 rec for 45 yards): 18-20 fantasy points
  • Expected Estimate (18 att, 78 rush yards, 8 rec for 55 yards): 24-26 fantasy points
  • Ceiling Estimate (20+ att, 90 rush yards, 10+ rec for 70 yards): 32-36 fantasy points

Best Christian McCaffrey Props Today: Sunday, November 9th – Week 10

Best Christian McCaffrey Prop Today: Higher Than 50.5 Receiving Yards

Overall, McCaffrey has averaged 8.9 targets, 6.8 receptions, and 69.6 receiving yards per game. Those numbers have come down slightly since Kittle’s return, but he’s still averaged 60.7 receiving yards in those three contests.

The Rams represent a tough matchup, ranking second in the league in pass defense EPA. However, McCaffrey had no problem producing against them in their first meeting this season. He racked up nine targets, eight catches, and 82 receiving yards in that matchup, and he also added a receiving touchdown.

Until this team gets back to full strength at receiver, there’s no reason to shy away from McCaffrey in the passing game.

Chiefs vs Bills Prediction Today: Mahomes Props & Bills Best Bets

Does it get any better than Patrick Mahomes vs Josh Allen? Both gunslingers will duel it out on Sunday, and the whole world will be watching. These games always make for interesting predictions.

Patrick Mahomes Props – Rushing Yards

We’ve had some lackluster “marquee games” in recent weeks, but that’s definitely not the case this week.

The Chiefs and Bills will square off in a battle between two of the best squads in football. The Chiefs have made it to seven straight AFC Championships, and they’ve managed to win five of them. Two of those wins have come against the Bills, including last season.

This game also features two of the best quarterbacks in the league. Josh Allen has had the edge over Mahomes statistically over the past few seasons, but Mahomes is battling back this year.

He leads the league with 17 touchdown passes, and he’s been red hot since getting back his top two receivers. He’s tossed at least three touchdowns in four of his past five games, and he’s led his team to wins in five of their past six.

While Mahomes is mostly known for his work with his right arm, he’s also done more with his legs this season. He’s averaging a career-best 35.0 rushing yards per game, and he’s had at least 28 rushing yards in six of eight contests.

Mahomes has always been known to use his legs at key moments in big games, and this week’s matchup vs. the Bills certainly qualifies.

Still, this number feels a bit high. Mahomes averaged just 19.2 rushing yards per game last season, and he’s never previously been above 24.3.

He was forced to scramble a bit more than usual at the beginning of the season with Rashee Rice and Xavier Worthy sidelined, but he shouldn’t need to do it as much moving forward.

Mahomes has had just four carries in back-to-back games, and he’s going to need to be extremely efficient to get to more than 28.5 rushing yards with that type of volume.

The Bills’ defense allowed 70 rushing yards to Lamar Jackson and Justin Fields in back-to-back games to start the season, but since then, they’ve held four of five opponents to 12 yards or fewer. Ultimately, this feels like an excellent sell-high spot.

Pick: Patrick Mahomes Rushing Yards – Lower Than 28.5 | Underdog

Best Bills Prop Bet – Elijah Moore Receiving Yards

The Bills spread the ball around more than just about any team in football. Keon Coleman leads the team with a 21% target share, while Khalil Shakir (20%) and Dalton Kincaid (16%) are just behind. After that, there are a host of different players earning somewhere between 5% and 12% of the targets.

Moore is one of them. He hasn’t been on the field a ton this season, but he’s been featured frequently when he is. He’s been targeted on 19% of his routes run, which is one of the better marks on the squad.

Moore’s route participation was up to 48% in his last outing, and he responded with a season-high four targets. He only managed to catch one of them for 14 yards, but it was still an encouraging development for his prospects moving forward.

The big reason for Moore’s increase was the absence of Joshua Palmer. He missed last week’s game with ankle and knee injuries, and he’s been ruled out once again vs. the Chiefs.

His absence should once again lead to an expanded workload for Moore, and the Bills should have to throw the ball more than they did in last week’s blowout win vs. the Panthers. Moore’s four-target performance came in a game where Allen attempted just 19 passes, so he brings considerable upside to the table in Week 9.

Pick: Elijah Moore Receiving Yards – Higher Than 19.5 | Underdog

Cowboys Props and Prediction

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys’ offense have been amazing. The Achilles’ heel is obvious: Dallas’ defense ranks 29th in EPA allowed and 31st in success rate.

Missed tackles and big plays have been the story, and the Cowboys now face a Denver team built to exploit that soft underbelly. Still, if Dak & Co. can jump out to a lead and force Denver’s hand early, the upset is in play.

Broncos Props and Prediction

Denver comes into Sunday’s tilt with serious momentum—behind a rejuvenated ground attack featuring J.K. Dobbins and rookie R.J. Harvey. The Broncos have shown grit with late-game heroics, but first-half sluggishness still puts bettors on alert.

The Broncos had a historically absurd fourth-quarter rally against the Giants last week, and we’ll see how they follow that up against Dallas.

They cannot fall that far behind the Cowboys’ potent offense, even at home, where they’ve had a fantastic advantage.

Cowboys vs Broncos Prediction: Props and Picks Today

There are plenty of Cowboys vs Broncos props to choose from on Underdog for Sunday. Let’s dive into the Dallas vs Denver predictions!

J.K. Dobbins Props Today

  • Lower Than 16.5 Rush Attempts

Dobbins has been the Broncos’ clear top running back this season, but he is still very much part of a committee. He’s played on just 51% of the team’s offensive snaps this season, and that number has been on the decline in recent weeks. He’s been at 51% or fewer in four straight games, and he owns a 49% snap share over that time frame overall.

While Dobbins has still handled most of the team’s rushing attempts over that time frame, he hasn’t gotten to 17 carries very often this season. In fact, he’s done it just once in seven games. He had 20 carries vs. the Eagles in Week 5, but he’s had 16 attempts or fewer in each of his other outings.

The Cowboys are an interesting matchup. On one hand, their defense is definitely exploitable. They’re 30th in EPA per play defensively for the year, and they’ve struggled against the run and the pass. Dobbins should have success in this contest, but so should the Broncos’ passing attack.

On the other hand, the Cowboys have been fantastic on offense this season. They rank in the top two in yards and points per game, and Dak Prescott is playing as well as any quarterback in football.

The Broncos do have a very good defense, but there’s no guarantee they shut down the Cowboys’ offense. If Dallas can jump out to an early lead – similar to what the Giants did vs. the Broncos last week – it could result in fewer opportunities for Dobbins.

Ultimately, this number is simply too high. I have Dobbins projected for closer to 14.5 carries, so I’ll take the value with less than 16.5.

Where to play: J.K. Dobbins Rush Attempts – Lower Than 16.5 | Underdog

George Pickens Props Today

  • Lower Than 56.5 Receiving Yards

Pickens has been one of the best offseason acquisitions to start the year. He stabilized the offense when CeeDee Lamb was out with an injury, and he’s averaged 86.7 receiving yards through his first seven outings. He also has six receiving touchdowns in his past six games, and only Amon-Ra St. Brown has more receiving touchdowns for the year.

Cowboys vs Broncos player props - George Pickens

However, with Lamb back in action, Pickens isn’t going to see quite as much work moving forward. He saw just six targets last week, which represented just a 21% target share. He was at 28% or greater in two of three games without Lamb, while he’s been at 21%, 16%, and 13% in his three full games with him.

Pickens was able to make up for it last week by generating some explosive plays, and that’s a big part of his skill set. However, things are not going to be nearly as easy for him vs. the Broncos.

They have one of the best defenses in football, particularly in their secondary. Patrick Surtain is the reigning defensive player of the year, while Riley Moss has allowed the lowest completion percentage when targeted in coverage.

If Pickens is looking at a comparable target share to last week, asking him to eclipse 56.5 yards is going to be tough. This is a nice sell-high spot.

Where to play: George Pickens Receiving Yards – Lower Than 56.5 | Underdog

NBA Props and Predictions Today: Saturday, October 25

We’re back for another season of NBA props and predictions! It’s the first Saturday of the season, so let’s start it off with a bang!

Miles Bridges Props Today

The Hornets’ offense had everything working in their first game of the year. They erupted for 134 points, and nine different players scored in double figures. That included Bridges, who had 18 points in just 31 minutes of work.

nba props and predictions - miles bridges props

That said, the Hornets were playing the Nets in that contest, who have the potential to be an absolute disaster this season.

They’re 29th in defensive efficiency through their first two games, and they were 23rd in that department last year. The Hornets have plenty of offensive talent, so it’s not surprising that they were able to put the ball in the hoop in that matchup.

Bridges thrived more on efficiency than volume in his first game of the year. He took just 11 shots, and his usage rate checked in at just 17.5%.

That represents a massive decrease from the 28.0% mark he posted last year. Bridges got to play most of the season without LaMelo Ball and Brandon Miller in the lineup, but with both guys currently active, that won’t be the case on Saturday.

Bridges made up for his lackluster volume by shooting 6-11 from the field and 3-6 from 3-point range. That’s not going to be an every-night occurrence. He should play a bit more on Saturday, assuming this game is more competitive, but this number still feels a bit too high.

Where to play: Miles Bridges Points – Lower Than 17.5 | Underdog Fantasy

Must be 18+ (19+ in AL, NE; 19+ in CO for some games; 21+ in AZ, MA, and VA) and present in a state where Underdog Fantasy operates. Terms apply. Aaron Wiggins Props Today

The Thunder are 2-0 to start their championship defense this season, but they’ve had to work extremely hard for it. They’ve needed double overtime in each of their first two games, with Shai Gilgeous-Alexander ultimately pulling the team across the finish line.

However, the Thunder are pretty banged up at the moment. Jalen Williams and Alex Caruso are both out of the lineup, along with a few additional role players.

Cason Wallace is questionable after missing the team’s last outing, and Chet Holmgren is also questionable for Saturday’s matchup vs. the Hawks. It’s a long season, so don’t be surprised if OKC exercises some caution with these guys early in the year.

The good news is that they have tremendous depth to make up for any deficiencies. Wiggins would start for a lot of teams, and he’s a prime target for me personally whenever he’s expected to play extended minutes.

He drew the start in the Thunder’s last contest in place of Wallace, and he responded with 23 points. In 13 games with at least 30 minutes last season, Wiggins averaged 21.4 points per game. The only question with him is how many opportunities he’ll get on a given night. As long as he draws another start, fire him up with confidence.

Where to play: Aaron Wiggins Points – Higher Than 19.5 | Underdog

Dallas Cowboys vs Washington Commanders Props – October 19

Will CeeDee Lamb be a full go? Who will benefit from the absence of Terry McLaurin? Deebo Samuel’s status is also uncertain for Sunday.

Our NFL props expert Matt LaMarca has a pair of Cowboys vs Commanders props circled for this late-window thriller.

Luke McCaffrey Player Props

McCaffrey is having a bit of a breakout in his second professional season. The 2024 third-round pick – and Christian’s younger brother – has already caught three touchdowns through his first six games. He’s averaging a whopping 22.4 yards per reception, so he’s been an excellent big-play threat for the Commanders.

However, McCaffrey is still a part-time player. Even with Terry McLaurin out of the lineup recently, McCaffrey has posted a route participation of 44% or fewer in three straight weeks.

That includes just a 37% mark in his last outing. McCaffrey is also failing to earn targets at a solid clip, posting just a 6% target share for the year. He’s been at 9% or lower in two straight games with Jayden Daniels back at quarterback, including a 4% mark last week.

McCaffrey has made up for it by generating big plays, but overall, he has just 10 targets through six weeks. He’s not going to average 20+ yards per catch all season, so this feels like a perfect sell-high opportunity.

Of course, the matchup vs. the Cowboys is the potential x-factor. They have been atrocious defensively this season, ranking dead last in EPA per play and pass defense EPA.

It’s possible that McCaffrey can get loose for a big one against this weak secondary, but I’m willing to take my chances.

Where to play: Luke McCaffrey Receiving Yards – Lower Than 21.5 | Underdog

Must be 18+ (19+ in AL, NE; 19+ in CO for some games; 21+ in AZ, MA, and VA) and present in a state where Underdog Fantasy operates. Terms apply. CeeDee Lamb Player Props

On the other side, the Cowboys are getting back one of the best receivers in football in Week 7. Lamb has essentially missed the past four games with a high ankle sprain, but he is slated to return vs. the Commanders. That’s excellent news for the Cowboys’ offense.

Before going down with his injury, Lamb was the clear focal point of the team’s passing attack. He racked up at least 11 targets and 111 receiving yards in each of his first two games, and he posted a fantastic 29% target share and 42% air yards share over that time frame.

CeeDee Lamb Player Props - Cowboys vs Commanders props

With Lamb out the past few weeks, George Pickens and Jake Ferguson have taken over as focal points of the passing attack. It’s possible that both players will maintain elevated roles even with Lamb back in the fold, but Lamb is going to be the team’s clear-cut No. 1 option.

Washington has allowed the 10th-most passing yards per game to their opponents this season, and the Cowboys have thrown the ball at the eighth-highest frequency. Dak Prescott leads the league with 164 completions, so the offense should continue to move the ball consistently through the air.

The only real concern is that Lamb won’t be 100% healthy in his first game back. However, the reports out of practice have been positive, and it seems as though Lamb could’ve potentially returned last week.

Instead, the Cowboys chose to exercise some caution, which bodes well for Lamb’s overall outlook. Ultimately, I’m looking to buy low on an extremely talented player.

Where to play: CeeDee Lamb Receiving Yards – Higher Than 73.5 | Underdog

Matt LaMarca is here to circle his favorite player props for Sunday’s game.

Sterling Shepard Receiving Yards – Higher Than 33.5

Would Baker Mayfield be the MVP of the league if the season ended after five weeks? It’s possible. That’s how good he’s been for Tampa Bay this season. He’s racked up 10 touchdown passes through his first five games, and he’s already engineered four “game-winning drives.”

He doesn’t grade out quite as well in some of the advanced metrics, but he still ranks in the top nine at the position in both PFF Grade and EPA + CPOE composite.

Bucs vs 49ers Predictions: Sterling Shepard Player Props - Underdog

From a volume perspective, the Bucs have averaged the sixth-most passing yards per game this season, and there should be opportunities for Shepard to make some plays on Sunday.

The team is still without Mike Evans, while Chris Godwin has also been ruled out vs. the 49ers. That leaves only talented rookie Emeka Egbuka ahead of Shepard on the depth chart.

Shepard has already been a decent part of the Bucs’ passing attack of late. He has a 73% route participation for the year, and he’s been targeted on 16% of his routes run.

He took a step back from a route standpoint in Week 5, but that was with Godwin available. Even so, Shepard was still targeted on 25% of his routes, and he finished with four catches, 24 yards, and a score.

Shepard has ultimately seen at least four targets in every game this season, and he’s had at least 34 receiving yards in three of them. The two exceptions were the two games with Godwin back in the lineup, so this feels like an excellent buy-low opportunity.

The 49ers defense can be exploited through the air – they’re 19th in pass defense EPA – and with Mayfield playing as well as any quarterback in football at the moment, it’s logical to get some exposure to some of his pass-catchers.

Christian McCaffrey Receiving Yards – Higher Than 48.5

While the Bucs are clearly dealing with some injuries at receiver, the 49ers have been absolutely decimated of late.

They were without both Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall in Week 5, while Brandon Aiyuk and George Kittle both remain out of the lineup. It’s possible that Jennings returns to the lineup in Week 6, but Pearsall is tentatively expected to miss another contest.

With so much talent on the sidelines, McCaffrey has had to take on a herculean workload. Specifically, he’s commanded a WR1-like workload as a receiver.

He owns a massive 27% target share through the first five weeks, which is the top mark at running back by a wide margin. Only 11 receivers have better marks than McCaffrey this season, so he’s been a legit alpha in the passing attack.

McCaffrey has responded with at least six catches and 52 receiving yards in all five games. It hasn’t mattered whether it’s been Brock Purdy or Mac Jones under center; the priority has been to get McCaffrey the ball.

He could be an even bigger focal point in this matchup. The Buccaneers have been stout against the run this season, so the 49ers could use short passes to their RB as a replacement for the run game.

Add it all up, and this number feels too low.
